3.1 Introduction to the POW+S Consensus Algorithm

The PEM Foundation has introduced the POW+S (Proof of Work + Super Node) consensus algorithm to overcome the limitations of existing blockchains and provide a next-generation blockchain solution that emcompasses both security and efficiency. POW+S is a mainnet that merges the concepts of Proof of Work (PoW) and Super Nodes.

In the POW+S system, Proof of Work (PoW) is performed for block creation while selected Super Nodes participate in block verification and network maintenance. By limiting the nodes that can participate in mining, the PEM Foundation ensures stable initial node operations and offers definite rewards. All Proof of Work involves miners solving cryptographic puzzles to create new blocks, thereby maintaining the security and integrity of the blockchain. Additionally, Super Nodes, equipped with high performance and stability, handle block verification and network management tasks, enhancing the efficiency and scalability of the blockchain.

Thus, the POW+S mainnet establishes a stable foundation for the system through the harmonious interaction of node participants and Super Nodes. The limited initial participating nodes ensure a stable system setup, forming the basis for full-scale system operation after the mainnet launch.
